Occupied Space
750 MB is required for exchange server 2003
500MB for Exchange Database and 250 MB for Exchange Installation

Installing Exchange Server
Insert the CD of Exchange Serve r 2003            Run             Cmd                      Go to cd drive                                I:>cd exch2003\ENT\Setup                            Setup                       Click on Exchange deployment tools

Sending Mails between the clients via exchange Server 2003
                  

Through Outlook Web Access
Create two users in exchange save AD users & computer            Make two machines the member of server

Give a address on URL tab

Click on new and send a mail to other users

Through MS-OUTLOOK

Forest Prep Utility
It extends AD schema to include exchange specific information. It also creates objects in AD & gives permissions to the exchange 2003 administrator on those objects.
Domain Prep Utility
It creates the group & permissions necessary for exchange server to read & modify user attributes. Domain prep must be run in each domain that contain an exchange 2003 server & in any domain that hosts exchange users.

CA
CA is the Certificate Authority that provide the authentication in the network for the users. There are two types of CA
  1. Root CA
  2. Sub-ordinate CA

Note: - After that CA is again divided in two types
  1. Standalone CA
  2. Enterprise CA

On Server Side

On Client Side

Request a certificate                  Advanced certificate authentication

Administration of exchange server from client workstation
Insert Client OS cd          Start                Run                            Appwiz.cpl          
Add/Remove Windows Components              Install IIS                     Next/Finish               Then Install “adminpack.msi” tool (you can get it in the i386 directory of server bootable media)                     
Insert exchange 2003 cd              Start                    Run             Cmd                Go to cd drive letter                      I:>cd exch2003\ENT\setup\i386setup.exe                  Select custom in Microsoft exchange option
Select Install for exchange system management tools                        Click next and continue until finished





How we Configure limit on mailbox store

Public Folder
It is storage area of the public mail which is publically shown their messages to each and every domain user account. All the database of public folder is stored in the root drive with the created files of public.edb (exchange database) and public.stm (string messaging).

Creating public folder on Server Side
Open Exchange Server                       Admin Group              First Admin Group                 Folders                       
Select Public Folders              Right Click                  New              Give Name and Description                                  ok

Accessing on Client Side
Open Internet Explorer                       in address bar              http://serverip/public

Configuring Mail Tracking
We configure mail tracking to set a user for the backup of mails that means whoever will send the mail a copy of that will be send to the selected user.

Open Exchange System Manager                     Admin Group              First Admin Group                  
Server  Server Name                Mailbox Store            Right Click                    Properties             
Click on First Browse              Advanced                Find Now             Select the user              ok                        Apply/ok

Using Mail Recovery Center
Open Exchange System Manager                    Mail Recovery Center                 Right Click                
Click on  First Option              Deleted User will be appear                 Admin Group              First Admin Group                   Server              Server Name                Mailbox Store              Mailboxes                Select the deleted User                 Right Click                     Mount                        Select the Mail enabled user                OK                      Apply/OK

Creating Mail Enabled User
Open Active Directory User and computer                      create a new user               Give name and password            Uncheck create mailbox                      ok
Recovering Deleted Items of a user
Log-in by the user in internet explorer                        Deleted Items             click on recover deleted items                                    select the mail you want to recover                click on recover                          right click                        move to folder
Backup of exchange Server
Start                Run                 ntbackup                     Next                            Select to backup                     
click on my computer              c:/program files/exchange                   ok                    Next                           
give source and name              Ok/Finish       

Removing exchange server
Open Active Directory user and computer                             select the user              right click                   
Remove all exchange activities like mailbox                         
Note: - Repeat the task with all users even with administrator
Start                  Run               appwiz.cpl                               select Microsoft exchange                 
remove                          next               in the opened wizard select Remove for all three options                             
Next                and follow the instruction
Open My computer                 c drive             Program Files              Remove Exchange Folder
